Pastors Wife, Ministry Director & Bible Teacher: Denise Salvato

At the age of 10, I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart, and the journey with Him and my Heavenly Father began. During my senior year of high school I was invited to a Calvary Chapel and immediately knew I had found a church that satisfied the hunger for God's Word inside of me. After graduating in 1983, and sensing a call on my life for ministry, I headed off to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Twin Peaks, California. In the summer of 1985 I met the love of my life, Rob Salvato, and we were married the following year. Throughout our marriage, we have had the privelege of serving the youth at Calvary Chapel Vista for 6 years; planting a church in Oregon and ministering there for 4 1/2 years; and returning to the family of Calvary Vista in 1996. The Lord has blessed us with 3 children-Aaron, Amy, and Amanda. It's a joy to serve in the Women's Ministry and I am overwhelmed by the love that is demonstrated in the lives of so many women. May we all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and serve Him faithfully. To God be the glory, great things He has done!

As a young girl I always had a love and respect for God, but it was during my junior year in high school that I entered into a personal relationship with Jesus. I met my sweet husband Dave and we were married in 1982. God blessed us with three beautiful daughters; Rachel now married to Jamie, Meagan and Hannah. Our bonus blessings are our precious grandsons Wesley and Shepard. Through an invitation from a friend we began to attend Calvary Costa Mesa. The power of God's Word and the working of the Holy Spirit began to transform my life in a deep and lasting way. We moved to Oceanside in 1987 and have called Calvary Vista our "family of faith" ever since. My joy has been serving in Women's Ministry through various capacities, including now working as administrator for Denise and the women in our fellowship. Each day I'm still in awe that He works in us to will and to do, for His good pleasure!

I came to Christ in the late 60's during the Jesus People Revival. Almost immediately I felt the call to serve. My passion and commitment is to teach the Word of God to women and to help them develop their own personal quiet time. I have been teaching and encouraging the women of Calvary Vista for 22 years. My husband George is Director of Calvary Chapel Church Planting Mission in Russia

MaryAnne Hommel

 I grew up in a godly Christian home, with wonderful Christian parents. When I was 15 we went as a youth group on a two-week missions trip, where we did street evangelism and Christian dramasin churches. I would say that was the year that my faith really became my own. My parents instilled the foundations within my heart, and when I was fifteen, God became mine. That summer I was baptized, and fell completely in love with Jesus. I taught my first girls Bible study when I was seventeen, to jr. high girls on the life of Abraham. That day instilled a love of teaching girls in my heart! I became involved in women’s ministry the week after I graduated high school- I couldn’t wait to get involved! I met my adorable husband, Jason, at Calvary Chapel Vista, and married him within a year. God has blessed us with 3 beautiful children, Haley, Jonathan, and Aleah. The same month that we got married, Jason became the high school pastor at Calvary Vista. We loved those days and we loved those kids. We’re still blessed to have a relationship with so many of them and are blessed to see the work that God is doing in and through them still! After that God called us to Texas to start a church and we were there for 7 years. That was such a sweet time with amazing people. God has called us back to Calvary Chapel Vista where we are blessed to be serving Him now! We’re excited to be here, serving alongside wonderful people. It’s such an adventure to be in the hands of God, and we’re joyful to be a part of His plan here!
